Offered salary will be determined by the applicant's education, experience, knowledge, skills and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. *Must be U.S. Citizen or Lawful Permanent Resident, meet Department of Homeland Security Designated School Official requirements. Job Summary: The International Student Advisor at the Office of International Student and Scholar Services will serve as a Designated School Official (DSO) as determined by the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and an Alternate Responsible Office (ARO) as determined by the U.S. Department of State. Specifically, the Advisor will be responsible for: Advising and Counseling: Advising F & J international students and the campus community on relevant federal immigration regulations and federal agency guidance; offering immigration advising based around individual student concerns, academic planning, course selection, and career development. Immigration Compliance: Ensuring international students adhere to immigration regulations by providing guidance on visa requirements, maintaining accurate international student records in the SEVIS system and Terra Dotta database, and assisting with visa applications, extensions, and related paperwork. Policy Interpretation and Compliance: Interpreting university policies and procedures related to international students and ensuring compliance with federal regulations governing international student enrollment and visa status. Student Support: Serving as a point of contact for students facing challenges, offering guidance, resources, and referrals to appropriate university services; collaborating with various university departments to coordinate support services and ensure a seamless experience for international students; assisting with the international student transition experience as well as co-curricular programs, activities and events for the international community.
