GENERAL SUMMARY: Responsible for identifying patient needs and priorities for care through assessment, planning for and delegating care based on patient's needs, executing therapeutic physician-and nurse-initiated interventions, and evaluating the patient's response to care and progress toward outcomes. Whenever possible, includes the family or significant others in the plan of care of the patient. Coordinates care and communicates essential information between other professional disciplines as needed and uses available resources and innovative strategies to provide care. Empowers the patient and/or significant others to make informed changes in health related behaviors. Responsible for the promotion of primary, secondary and tertiary prevention. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: Current Registered Nurse License in the State of Nebraska required or approved compact state of residence as defined by the Nebraska Nurse Practice Act. Must provide evidence of certification and/or instruction for practice area as required by State or Federal standards/regulations. OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. Bryan Health recognizes American Heart Association (for healthcare professionals), American Red Cross (for healthcare professionals) and the Military Training Network. Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification required. |
