Overview
Produces two or three dimensional ultrasonic recordings and Doppler flow analyses of heart and related structures for use by Physician in diagnosis of heart disease and study of heart by performing the following duties. May be required to work flexible hours. Participates in the on-call roster. Performs echocardiographic examinations, assuming responsibilities for the quality of the examination and using clinical judgment to determine the need for additional testing protocols. Assess, prepare and perform echocardiographic examinations (M-mode, 2 or 3 dimensional Doppler, transesophageal and stress). Provide for emotional support, physical comfort and safety of patients and visitors. Maintains equipment and area in working condition. Assists with other duties as assigned.
Responsibilities Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Education and Experience High School diploma or equivalent Associate Degree and/or Bachelor's Degree, from an accredited program, preferred Certification/Licensure CPR Certification RDCS (Registered Diagnostic Cardiac Sonographer) by the ARDMS Board or RCS by the CCI Board registered or registry eligible. Must obtain RCS registration in adult echo within 1 year Special Physical Demands While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; climb, balance, talk and hear. The employee is occasionally required to sit, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, taste, and smell. Specific vision abilities required by this job include frequent ability to adjust focus and occasional distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and depth perception. The employee must regularly lift and /or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally exert up to 100 pounds of force.
