About the Role

The primary objective of this position is to drive cost improvements in our distribution operations through improved methods, systems, capital investments and process in the physical distribution of products. The successful Industrial Engineer will provide industrial and process engineering to support our domestic Logistics Centers and Configuration & Integration Operations, be accountable for engineering support including budgets, layout, design, space planning, material handling/equipment specification and associated process design and documentation, and provides engineering support for all safety and ergonomic engineering of all operations as well as process evaluation and improvement. Qualified candidates for this role must currently be located in or near Romeoville, IL or South Bend, IN at time of application.

What You'll Do

  • Conducts work/method studies and develops appropriate reporting and recommendations(including time studies).

  • Develops, documents and implements improved work methods, processes and procedures.

  • Develops, documents and implements engineered productivity and work standards.

  • Performs capacity and utilization analysis and planning for Logistics Centers.

  • Conducts ergonomic and safety engineering studies for all processes and activities.

  • Assesses facility and workstation layout, design, equipment selection, space utilization and planning.

  • Develop cost/benefit analysis, as well as detailed justification for projects and programs.

  • Actively participates in cross functional projects with management, customers and other departments to improve quality and productivity.Identifies and quantifies potential supply chain improvements, recommendations and implementations.

  • Applies LEAN methodologies to identify, support and lead process variation, continuous improvement and waste reduction projects.

  • Supports the development of new process documentation and facilitates change control of existing Logistics processes.

  • Participates in continuous process improvement activities, including training and reporting.

  • Performs UAT (test-script creation and testing) for SAP driven processes as needed

  • Primary owner for the development of new process documentation and facilitates change control of existing Logistics processes updating as required.

  • Participates and drives ISO compliance within assigned Logistic Center(s).

  • Additional duties as assigned.

Required Experience and Education:

  • Previous Work Experience: Minimum of two (2) years relevant experience in a logistics/supply chain engineering role, plus labor standards experience five (5) years preferred.

  • Education/Certifications Required: Bachelor's Degree in Engineering.

  • Other education/certifications: Basic Lean, Six Sigma knowledge or other process improvement certification

Salary Range Requirement

Actual annual compensation offered will be based on several variables including geographic location, work experience, education and skills/ achievements, and will be mutually agreed upon at the time of offer.

  • Qualified candidates can expect a salary beginning at $72,000 or more depending on experience
