Position Summary
This role performs routine ultrasound examinations as ordered by physicians, ensuring accurate imaging by assessing patient needs, selecting appropriate equipment, and following clinical protocols. It also involves patient and family support, equipment maintenance, participation in departmental operations and training, and adherence to professional development and hospital core values.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine ultrasound examinations by reviewing physician orders, assessing patient needs, and selecting appropriate imaging techniques and equipment.
  • Evaluate and prepare patients by assessing physical and emotional status, adjusting procedures as needed, and ensuring clear communication throughout the exam.

  • Maintain equipment functionality by identifying and reporting malfunctions and following quality control and data integrity protocols.

  • Support departmental operations and training, assisting senior technologists and providing instruction to residents, fellows, and students when needed.

  • Participate in professional development and uphold hospital values by attending meetings, completing documentation, and demonstrating excellence, teamwork, and accountability.

Minimum Qualifications:

Education

  • Associates degree; Diagnostic Medical Sonography

Certifications/License

  • Eligible for certification by the ARDMS.
  • Must meet, successfully complete, and maintain the ARDMS certification and registration within one year of hire date.
  • BLS certification
