We help our customers enhance their digital transformation by supplying state-of-the-art data and analytics insights for their products and processes. Our Inspection Team provides Remote Visual Inspection and advanced robotic services.

This Mechanical Engineer will be part of the R&D team to design new products, develop new technologies and improve existing product lines. Will be responsible for projects of varying complexity. Will a have significant impact on product cost, performance, reliability and manufacturability.

As a R&D Mechanical Engineer, you will be responsible for:

  • Executing the design analysis, or evaluation of assigned projects using sound engineering principles and adhering to business standards, practices, procedures, and product/program requirements.
  • Working with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from ideation to implementation including design, prototyping, refinement, and validation.
  • Working with suppliers to refine designs to have minimal cost and maximum consistency.
  • Sifting through complex technical issues/problems and focusing on the critical priorities and performing necessary tasks to identify a viable solution in the least possible time
  • Contributing to innovation by researching new technologies and reviewing and submitting patents.
  • Conducting design reviews to show thorough attention to project requirements, FMEA, manufacturing, reliability, and supplier capability.

Fuel your passion

To be successful in this role you will:

  • Have a degree in Engineering with 3+ years of New Product Introduction mechanical engineering experience
  • Be able to show significant experience in an engineering role and demonstrate good technical knowledge
  • Show solid problem-solving skills, with a focus on actions, results and adding value for customers
  • Have a good working knowledge of CAD systems including proficiency with Solidworks.
  • Necessary to live near Skaneateles NY for this position. Relocation Assistance will be provided.

The annual pay scale for this position is between $82,800.00 - $153,800.00.

Candidates for this role (office-based/ hybrid/ remote) must be located in or near the locations displayed above. The pay range/scale displayed above represents Baker Hughes' good faith estimate of the minimum and maximum for this position at the time of this posting and applies to the possible locations for this position. Baker Hughes will issue a non-bias competitive offer; the salary range posted for this position reflects the projected hiring range for new hires, full-time salaries in some U.S. locations, not including equity or benefits. Where an applicant will ultimately fall within the pay range/scale depends on a variety of factors, including, for example, geographic work location, skillset, qualifications, internal pay alignment, level of experience, and demonstrated performance over time. Please keep in mind that the range stated above is the full base salary range for the role and does not include other forms of compensation.
