Lubbock TTU Post Doctoral Research Associate - Water Resources Center 39268BR Water Resources Center Position Description Performs specialized Post Doctoral work in the planning, conducting and/or supervision of original research. Responsible for participating in a research project associated with PhD studies and the interpretation of the results of publication. Work is performed under supervision of graduate faculty members with evaluation based on accomplishment of assigned objectives and overall effectiveness of project. May supervise research and student assistants. About the Department and/or College Texas Tech University has long recognized the importance of water resources for sustaining economic growth and sensitive ecosystems of Southern High Plains. The Water and the Environmental Research (WATER) Center was established by the Board of Regents in 1965 to conduct research and coordinate water related activities on campus. The center has a 50 year history of conducting basic and applied research activities that are not only relevant to the Southern High Plains region but also of national and international significance. Major/Essential Functions Knowledge of modern analysis & research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof. Organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgement based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solution and other outcomes. Establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and the public. Plan and allocate the workload of employees, providing direct training and supervision as needed. Performs specialized Post Doctoral work in the planning, conducting and/or supervision of original research. Required Qualifications PhD in environmental or chemical engineering, or in a related environmental, chemical or geosciences field. Knowledge of modern research practices, the methods, resources, and standards thereof. Ability to organize work effectively, conceptualize and prioritize objectives and exercise independent judgment based on an understanding of organizational policies and activities. Ability to integrate resources, policies, and information for the determination of procedures, solutions and other outcomes. Ability to establish and maintain effective work relationships with other employees and the public.
