Overview

JOB SUMMARY:

Under the general direction of and reporting to the Sr. Director of Client Services Strategy & Deputy Chief of Staff, the Director, Project Management Office is responsible for providing project management governance, planning, and implementation across internal and client facing work at ForHealth Consulting at UMass Chan. This position will be directly responsible for collaborating with operational and business leaders to identify and manage project management needs; lead, manage, and coach the project management team consisting of project management coordinators, project management consultants, and senior project managers, and play a pivotal role in developing and implementing project management best practices, standards, and methodologies to ensure effective and efficient project delivery that is aligned with ForHealth Consulting's organizational transformation initiatives.

This is a remote position, with ability to participate in on site team and client meetings as needed.



Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    Oversees the project management portfolio, staffing allocation, project scoping, budgeting, revenue targets, prospecting (both internal and external clients) to meet financial and client diversity growth targets.
  • Responsible for developing and maintaining high standards to represent ForHealth Consulting to internal and external clients by establishing and/or implementing best in class project management methodologies, standards, and tools.
  • Supervises the staff members of the project management office.
  • Partners with the Sr Director of Client Services Strategy & Deputy Chief of staff to engage a broad range of stakeholders, business owners and executives to provide oversight and governance of project management support for the organization. Serves as a member of the project management governance committee.
  • Oversees complex projects as needed and provides project supervision to project management resources and monitors progress and risks.
  • Serves as a coaching and mentoring resource to all project management resources and ForHealth Consulting operational leaders.
  • Performs analysis of productivity, key performance indicators and work capacity to track performance against baseline projections and targets.
  • Partners with other departments and Sales Operations to provide project management staffing plans and structures in response to RFRs and other proposals.
  • Collaborates with the Sr. Director of Client Services Strategy & Deputy Chief of Staff to support the execution of the organization's Strategic Plan.
  • Conducts annual performance assessments, skill development and training for project management office staff.
  • Performs other similar and related duties as required or directed.


Qualifications

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Bachelor's Level Degree in Public Health, Project Management, Healthcare, Business Administration or related field or equivalent
  • 8-10 years of experience in leading project management teams with demonstrated success.
  • Extensive practical business experience in a large, dynamic organization with strong program management knowledge and skills through wide-ranging experiences in the field of program management.
  • Strong track record of managing healthcare programs in rapidly changing and pressured environments to successfully deliver business benefits within specified timescales, budget and in accordance with client expectations.
  • Proven track record of successful project delivery, an ability to improve project management practices and substantial team leadership experience with a focus on team development in government contracting or not for profit entities.
  • Self-starter with positive, proactive, assertive presence, ability to motivate, inspire and establish/maintain credibility with external clients, internal stakeholders and senior management.
  • Strong judgment and ability to work with others, inspires trust with strong communication & presentation skills.
  • Excellent teamwork skills, both as a leader and a team member. Master of change management skills.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's Level Degree or equivalent
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
  • Advanced Project Management Professional certification(s)
  • Experience driving change in Public health, healthcare systems or similar settings
