Individual Giving and Stewardship Manager

Position Summary: Reporting to the Assoc VP IA/Assoc Dean of Cardozo, the Individual Giving & Stewardship Manager will provide key support to the Cardozo Institutional Advancement team to cultivate and steward donors in the pipeline. The Manager will spearhead a wide range of projects to ensure that the law school has a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship program that promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels including the Board of Overseers and overall pipeline development for the fundraising team.
Position Responsibilities: Stewardship responsibilities


  • Coordinate and lead a comprehensive donor relations and stewardship system that consistently promotes interaction with and recognition of donors at all levels
  • Dean's Council: Plan and facilitate events and stewardship touch points
  • Dobrinsky Society: Plan and facilitate events and stewardship touch points for planned giving society
  • YU Reporting such as the President's Report & Impact Reports with Cardozo honor rolls
  • Scholarship & Donor Reception: Responsible for leading the scholarship matches between donors and student recipients, including the annual thank you letters and endowment balances
  • Also responsible for helping to plan and produce Scholarship Reception in the spring


Board of Overseers


  • Act as lead liaison to members of the board to prepare communications and presentations for their meetings (currently three per year)
  • Oversee nominating subcommittee, manage potential members list, and work with IA individual giving team to ensure next steps with these prospects
  • Manage board giving excel document and work with IA individual giving team to ensure next steps with these prospects and pledges
  • Prepare alumni congratulatory promotion emails for the Chair and Dean to send quarterly and other necessary document leadership & volunteer team signature


Pipeline Management


  • Responsible for Individual Giving Pipeline Management and cues team members regarding next steps for prospecting


Experience & Education Background:

  • Bachelor's Degree required
  • 3-5 years related experience in fundraising, donor relations and stewardship
  • Successful candidate will possess excellent writing skills


Skills & Competencies:

  • Fluent in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Outlook, Word & PowerPoint) and willing to learn a new prospect management database
  • Excellent written and oral communications skills, including the ability to interact successfully both one-on-one and in large group settings
  • Excellent judgement in determining the ability to make appropriate use of resources to further fundraising goals
  • Ability to manage multiple projects
  • Evenings and travel required


Salary Range: $65,000 - $65,000
