Over the past 40 years, the Institute has grown to be one of the top-rated cardiovascular centers in the world, consistently nationally ranked by US News and World Report for cardiology and heart surgery.

Key Position Details:

Allina Health Minneapolis Heart Institute is seeking a Cardiology Advanced Practice Provider to join the practice based at United Hospital in St. Paul.

  • 1.0 position. 40 hours per week
  • 10 hour work days
  • Outpatient position.
  • Clinic locations include St. Paul - east metro coverage and Western Wisconsin
  • This role will primarily support general cardiology.
  • Position includes weekend rounding in the hospital approximately 3-4 weekends per year.
  • EMR: Epic is one of the most comprehensive electronic health record (EHR) systems in the nation.

Job Description:

Principle Responsibilities:

  • Completes comprehensive patient assessments
  • Determines diagnosis and treatment of illness
  • Orders and interprets medical diagnostics in tandem with attending physician
  • Prescribes medications, treatments, therapy and medical equipment
  • Conducts patient education when working to manage chronic illness or wellness care

Required Qualifications:

  • Master's degree - Completion of accredited Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant program.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • New graduates may be considered. Prefer a minimum of 2 years of experience in cardiology or ICU.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • Master's degree completion of an accredited Nurse Practitioner program or Physician Assistant program required
  • Certification as a Physician Assistant - NCCPA -National Commission Certification of Physician Assistants upon hire required or Certified Nurse Practitioner (ANCC) - American Nurse Credentialing Center or (AANP) American Association for Nurse Practitioners required upon hire
  • Licensed Registered Nurse - MN Board of Nursing required upon hire (NP candidates)
  • Active MN & WI NP/PA license (or ability to obtain).
  • BLS certification required with in 180 days of hire.
  • Ability to obtain and/or maintain MN DEA certification and National Provider Identifier (NPI).
  • Ability to meet criteria/qualifications for Credentialing and hospital privileges.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $147,600 to $180,400 per year The pay described reflects the starting base pay range, assuming a full-time FTE. Your starting rate will depend on a variety of factors including, but not limited to, your experience, education, and the union agreement (if applicable).
