The Potocsnak Family Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine is seeking a pediatrician, family medicine physician, or internist to join our clinical practice to serve as an Attending Physician for our new Eating Disorders Program. We are accepting applications for a faculty position in the clinician-educator at a rank of Instructor or Assistant Professor, non-tenure-eligible track. Applicants with robust clinical experience are strongly preferred. Applicants must be board certified or board eligible in adolescent medicine.

The Potocsnak Family Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine is newly located in a youth-friendly facility in Chicago, which integrates our physicians, advanced practice nurses, clinical psychologists, nurses, social workers, researchers, education & outreach specialists, and administrative staff under one roof. We collaborate with other divisions, including Hospital-Based Medicine, Psychiatry's Consult-Liaison team, Nursing, and Clinical Nutrition, to optimize patient care. The Division is well-appointed with social work and administrative support, permitting physicians to feel supported and focus on their clinical work.

Division faculty have ample opportunities to teach adolescent medicine fellows, Lurie Children's Hospital pediatrics residents, Northwestern University medical students and physician assistant students, and residents and students from other Chicago-area graduate medical education programs. Teaching occurs in both inpatient and outpatient venues. Education of community pediatric practices in eating disorder management is commonplace and appreciated, setting up opportunities for capacity building.

Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago is the primary pediatric teaching hospital of Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine. The incoming faculty member will obtain an academic appointment at the level of Assistant Professor or above, depending on experience. Salary and benefits are competitive. The anticipated start date is August 1, 2025 or earlier. Applications will be accepted until the position is filled.

To apply, please submit a CV and letter of inquiry describing your interest and alignment with the position to Dr. Gregg J. Montalto, Associate Division Head for Clinical Practice at Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago to the link below. Also upload this completed list of references form to suggest the names of individuals who could write letters of reference on your behalf.

Our Commitment to Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion

The Division of Adolescent and Young Adult Medicine and the Department of Pediatrics are strongly committed to diversity. Equity is critical to the mission of advancing excellence in academic programs, world-class research, and health programs. As our healthcare and academic institutions serve increasingly diverse constituencies, it is vital to understand the ways in which differences in gender, class, race, ethnicity, religious affiliation, and other identities can either divide us or offer us better ways of thinking and working together. Racial and ethnic minority colleagues, transgender and non-binary people, sexual minorities, people with disabilities, and women provide necessary and valuable perspectives which are an irreplaceable component to success in the faculty role. The Department is committed to supporting faculty to work in an increasingly diverse society by promoting equity and justice for all individuals, actively working to eliminate barriers and obstacles created by institutional discrimination. Engagement in discrimination or harassment against any person because of race, color, sex, religion, national origin, ancestry, age, marital status, military service, disability, sexual orientation, and gender identity or expression will not be tolerated.
