Job Description
  • Develops and maintain detailed knowledge of the local labor market Keep apprised of local business needs and job placement opportunities
  • Develops plans with employers to identify job openings, alternative work activities and training initiatives
  • Works with TDS staff to facilitate job placements
  • Contacts and supports employers by assisting with recruiting, interviewing, and hiring qualified candidates
  • Enters employer information into all appropriate Databases and monitors employer activities
  • Assists with job fairs and employer hiring events
  • On occasion may work outside normal business hours to support event, employers, or deadlines
  • Responsible for overseeing the project's programmatic activities and operations
  • Reviews, recommends, reports, and implements programs to ensure that the project meets contractual obligations and compliance issues
  • Analyzes processes and procedures to optimize performance
  • Defines and sets operational goals
  • Prioritizes assignments and adjusts or adapts service delivery as needed
  • Supervises local office team providing oversight to ensure that participants receive quality and timely services and meeting program objectives
  • Manages a caseload of participants and provides counseling and mentoring
  • Assess participant competencies, work history, education attainment, skills, and abilities Identifies challenges to finding employment and prompts remediation
  • Assumes central responsibility for participants achieving self-sufficiency by monitoring progress throughout the program cycle, beginning with outreach/referral and continuing through retention and advancement efforts.
  • Prepares, organizes, and maintains accurate, updated information in both electronic and paper participant files reflecting entire history of a program participant including supportive services issued Understands all technical aspects of the program operation
  • Maintains knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local laws, regulations, guidelines, and policies related to welfare and workforce programs
  • Reviews eligibility of participants and verify staff record participant activity and progress in state system of record
  • Conducts regular file review and monitoring Maximizes performance and productivity
  • Direct/delegate staff responsibilities to meet and/or exceed performance standards
  • Reviews staff performance and recommend corrective actions as needed
  • Coordinates training activities to ensure that all operations staff are properly trained to implement project activities effectively
  • Participates in development and maintenance of standard operating procedures Facilitates meetings with partners to promote full, frequent communication
  • Delegates work and resolve issues and conflicts that arise
  • Other duties as assigned
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree from an accredited university or college or 2 years' work experience in business to business sales, marketing, customer service, staffing or recruiting
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills Demonstrated strong customer service skills.
  • Strong presentation skills with public speaking or outside sales experience
  • Familiarity with the communities being served, with knowledge and understanding of local needs and resources
  • Demonstrated knowledge of labor market trends
  • Friendly, professional demeanor Sales or staffing experience preferred Bi-lingual (English/Spanish) preferred Ability to work well in teams and independently
  • Proficient in Microsoft Windows and Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
  • Ability to work well in teams and independently
  • Valid driver's license in good standing and proof of automobile insurance required
