Job Description

Exciting Opportunity at MSK: We have an exciting opportunity for a Manager to join our Research Financial Management team! We are part of the Research and Technology Management Division of MSK. The group is responsible for post-award research fund administration, review, and approval of fiscal expenditures - serving as the internal financial advisor for investigators and labs.
The Research Financial Management office is responsible for the stewardship of institutional resources related to the research mission of MSK, mitigating risk and helping optimize research operations by providing reporting, projections, and analysis. The office also ensures institutional compliance with federal, state, agency, governing regulations, policies, and procedures concerning sponsored and non-sponsored research.

Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise 5-6 individual contributor positions, primarily consisting of Research Finance Managers.
* Serve as a member of the ORPA Management team and collaborate with ORPA leadership, as appropriate.
* Plan and implement programmatic initiatives affecting department operations and the broader research enterprise.
* Ensure the most professional, organized, efficient, and appropriate workflow and management of MSK research funds.
* Further an environment that encourages staff development, continuous improvement, and the highest quality service.
* Act in a leadership role, mentoring and participating in high-level projects.
* Communicate effectively to constituents and peers.
* Discuss departmental and institutional initiatives and financial strategies with peers and leadership.

Key Qualifications:
* Minimum of 4 years' experience in research administration (experience with NIH and other Federal grants preferred)
* 2+ years of supervisory experience

Core Skills:
* Apply broad technical and professional knowledge and significant job-related experience. Function as an internal consultant and/or assume managerial responsibility in a specialized functional unit of the organization.
* Excellent analytical, time management, and organizational abilities.
* Information management, verbal, and written communication skills.

* Reporting to: Director, Research Financial Management

Pay Range: $131,800 - $217,500
