Primary Purpose of Organizational Unit
The Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research seeks to improve the health of individuals, families, and populations by understanding the problems, issues, and alternatives in the design and delivery of health care services. This is accomplished through an interdisciplinary program of research, consultation, technical assistance, and training that focuses on timely and policy-relevant questions concerning the accessibility, adequacy, organization, cost, and effectiveness of health care services, and the dissemination of this information to policymakers and the general public.
Position Summary
THIS POSTING IS FOR FOUR IDENTICAL POSITIONS (POSITION NUMBERS 20068318, 20068323, 20068324, AND 20068325). BY APPLYING TO THIS POSTING, YOU WILL BE CONSIDERED FOR ALL FOUR AVAILABLE POSITIONS.

The Program on Behavioral Health Services Research at the Cecil G. Sheps Center for Health Services Research is seeking four (4) Project Managers/Research Associates to serve as key members of our growing and dynamic team. The Program on Behavioral Health Services Research conducts studies to inform behavioral health policy at national, state, and regional levels. The Program provides policymakers with data-driven evidence to inform decisions that affect health professionals, educators, employers, and the public. The Project Managers/Research Associates will work across state and federally funded research and evaluation projects.

Duties include creating workplans, monitoring deadlines, and developing and monitoring study-related budgets. Research Associates will utilize quantitative and qualitative research skills to facilitate project completion. Specific research-related functions include data collection, organization, cleaning, analyses; preparing findings for dissemination through project briefs, manuscripts, presentations, website content, newsletters, and social media; and assisting with annual reports, grant writing and submission processes. The Project Managers/Research Associate will report to Dr. Paul Lanier, the Director of the Program on Behavioral Health Services.
Minimum Education and Experience Requirements
Relevant post-Baccalaureate degree required (or foreign degree equivalent); for candidates demonstrating comparable independent research productivity, will accept a relevant Bachelor's degree (or foreign degree equivalent) and 3 or more years of relevant experience in substitution. May require terminal degree and licensure.
Required Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
Experience managing research projects, state contracts, and federal grants. Training in health services research theory and methods. Experience conducting quantitative and qualitative data analyses, strong writing and editing skills, excellent project management skills, and familiarity with data analysis software ( SAS, R, STATA, or Python preferred). Experience writing journal articles, reports, and/or policy briefs. Applicants should have familiarity and knowledge about behavioral health research and policy.

Research Experience: Behavioral health services research experience involving data analysis is required. This includes familiarity with measure development, data analysis software, and ability to perform descriptive data analysis.

Project Management Experience: Experience with project management in research or evaluation projects is required. This includes excellent organizational and project management skills and strong writing and editing skills.
Preferred Qualifications, Competencies, and Experience
* Prefer a graduate degree (Masters Degree or PhD) in Public Health, Health Policy, Social Work, Business Administration, Healthcare Administration, Economics, Public Administration or a related field.
* Experience with behavioral health policy practice would be desired, but not required.
* Project management certification (e.g., Project Management Institute) is preferred.
