POSITION SUMMARY

The Operations Manager works under the supervision of the Senior Plant Manager and manages plant operations to ensure a stable and efficient operation. The Operations Manager is responsible for planning, coordinating, and controlling of the manufacturing processes. The Operations Manager provides guidance to operations and maintenance, assists in the daily operation of the plant, and ensures all employees strive to meet the standards set forth by the company for Safety, Quality, Efficiency and Preventative Maintenance. Must be willing to work off-shifts as needed, approach safety as a core value, and maintain a positive relationship with clients, vendors and customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

• Perform all work in a safe, professional, and conscientious manner.
• Provide direct supervision to the plant's operators and Lead Machinist to ensure alignment of production, maintenance, and repair priorities while ensuring safe operations.
• Direct and participate in physical on-site troubleshooting, repairs or maintenance activities. Must be available 24/7 in general to respond to emergencies or plant related issues, in person or via phone.
• Develop, review and update standard operating procedures (SOP's) for facility processes, safety, and emergency conditions to ensure proper, efficient and safe operations.
• Assist Senior Plant Manager in developing and implementing an employee continuous improvement culture that positively impacts safety, labor productivity, plant utilization, and expense.
• Review operational data looking for trends, correlations, and any information that could result in a better, more efficient operation. Develop and implement continuous improvement projects based on the data analysis.
• Ensure compliance to Quality, Health, Safety, and Environmental processes in accordance with Federal, State and Local laws and regulations.
• Manage our maintenance program by ordering parts and supplies, setting up annual inspections, and performing preventative maintenance.
• Manage the overall maintenance plan for the plant and coordinate these activities to meet customer demands.
• Oversee work performed by contractors; verify that work is performed in accordance with contract terms; reviews payment requests; and approves same.
• Work with the Senior Plant Manager to develop financial forecast and control plant spend commensurate with operations budget and company goals.
• Work with our Plant Administrative Assistant to assist with reporting, customer orders, billing, and invoicing.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Knowledge general operation of an industrial processing plant and/or a wastewater treatment plant
• Ability to communicate effectively and document operations.
• Must have the ability to analyze and evaluate field data.
• Experience working in a workplace with multiple labor unions and trades
• Proficient with Microsoft Outlook, Excel, & Word.
