Application Window Open date: December 9, 2024 Next review date: Thursday, Jan 2, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Monday, Jan 13, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Harris Laboratory seeks a Junior Specialist or Assistant Specialist in the Division of Infectious Diseases & Vaccinology in the School of Public Health and works on the virology, immunology, pathogenesis, and epidemiology of dengue and Zika. Dengue is a major public health problem worldwide caused by a mosquito-borne RNA flavivirus. Zika virus is an emerging virus in the Americas that causes severe neurological sequelae in newborns. Clinical and epidemiological studies are conducted in collaboration with scientists in Nicaragua as long-term partners in a region endemic to arboviruses. The position we offer is for a Junior Specialist or Assistant Specialist to perform basic research, being in charge of scientific projects directed to understand the immune response to dengue virus and other important flaviviruses.
