Renown Health, Northern Nevada's largest and only not-for-profit locally governed healthcare network, is hiring a Thoracic Surgeon. Join our Renown Medical Group Surgical team practicing in the region's only Level II Trauma Center serving a catchment area of over 900,000. Under the direction of the Chair, Department of Surgery, the Thoracic Surgeon will provide medical and surgical care for patients in the community. The Surgeon will diagnose, treat, and manage malignant and benign Thoracic surgical diseases for patients. Physician will be expected to collaborate with and supervise mid-level providers and can expect to have some involvement with public health education, administration, teaching and research. The ideal candidate will be a BE/BC Surgeon with a minimum of 2 years' experience and have Completed an accredited general surgery residency and a Thoracic surgery/Cardiothoracic fellowship. Incumbent must possess a strong work ethic with a focus on quality. Collegiality is mandatory. This position is non-cardiac. The position also includes new patient consults and follow up appointments in the Outpatient Clinic. Physician will have efficient ancillary support staff in place - surgery schedulers, MAs, RN, APPs, PARS, practice site leaders and practice manager. Renown Health and the University of Nevada, Reno School of Medicine (UNR Med) are affiliate partners in Nevada's first integrated academic health system. The affiliation aims to improve the health of the community, region, and state through research, medical education, and expanded clinical care. Renown physicians participate as joint faculty at UNR Med for teaching, lectures, supervising clinical rotations, and other academic activities for the education of medical and physician assistant students, residents, and fellows.
