Position Summary

The Production Controller (PC) primary responsibility is maintenance, review, tracking, and preparation for certification of Task Group Instructions, Condition Reports, LARs/RLARs, and all other technical work documents. He/she will assist the Project Manager with the myriad of details associated with material, schedules, and resource availability.

Interface with Project Managers, Supervisors, Craftsmen, NDT inspectors, Quality Assurance and other departments and organizations as required to support assigned projects. Interface will involve obtaining and providing information on matters of importance to the assigned Project Manager (s) and Asst Program Manager (s).

Duties & Responsibilities


  • Follow direction provided by the Program Manager or assigned Project Manager.
  • Coordinate the life cycle of the project, serving as the liaison between external and internal customers.
  • Assist with all CDRL's and contract requirements. This will involve assembling and analyzing schedule, quality metrics, and other data to assess readiness to meet the requirements.
  • Provide daily reports as applicable detailing TGI status, associated material status, percent of completion updates, and any issues or concerns related to in process or upcoming work.
  • Attend meetings with various support departments (ex: Scheduling/Purchasing Depts.) to provide and receive input or updates needed for project success.
  • Assist PM in the development and routing of MOAs for signature for assigned projects.
  • Assist PM in development of POAMs for assigned projects.
  • Assist PM with Travel Authorizations and Per Diem Transfer Requests for assigned projects.
  • Assist PM with completion of PRs for submission to Purchasing for materials and services.
  • Assist PM and Production Supervisor with writing and editing Condition Reports for assigned projects.
  • Pack out, and shipping of tools, equipment, and materials for assigned projects.
  • Track, inventory, receive, and issue material to assigned projects. Ensure that all material received for projects is correct and resolve any material discrepancies.
  • Develop spreadsheets for tracking of progress and costs based on TGIs for assigned projects.
  • Utilize E2 Program to develop/maintain workflow process, identify shop resource demand and capacity, plan work, and identify bottlenecks in the production process (shop only).
  • Maintain a safe working environment by adhering to, and enforcing, all safety procedures and policies inside and outside the facility, including use of personal protective and other equipment as required.
  • Communicate effectively and professionally with co-workers, management, and internal & external customers.
  • Maintain a relationship with the customer, developing business opportunities for current and future needs.
  • A wide degree of latitude and creativity is required.
  • Some travel is required to site locations.

Qualifications


  • High School/GED and additional administrative vocational courses.
  • Computer literacy including MS Office applications.
  • Ability to rely on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals.
  • Ability to successfully reach company goals in an environment in which a wide degree of creativity and latitude is required.
  • Must have excellent oral and written communications skills. Position will interface with internal customers, external customers, and vendors.
  • Must have considerable knowledge of OII-MSD operations and specific trade knowledge as determined by area of responsibility, understanding of the general and detailed aspects of the assigned projects, and their practical applications to problems and situations ordinarily encountered.
  • Must be able to obtain a Secret Security Clearance issued by the U.S. Department of Defense.
  • Applicant will be subject to periodic security investigations and must meet the eligibility requirements to obtain and maintain a security clearance issued by the US Government.
  • In addition to the security clearance, this position may require an additional background screening for base access.
  • Must be a U.S. citizen who is not a dual citizen of any other country.
