Education Recommendations Currently a 1st, 2nd or 3rd-year candidate for a bachelor's degree in computer engineering or electrical engineering or a related field with an accredited school in the US As a co-op in the hardware group, you will work with a highly experienced hardware development team that designs, builds, and assists hardware solutions for Nokia's routing platforms. You will gain practical hands-on experience working alongside hardware developers in the lab on the latest prototype circuit boards. Depending on the candidate, you might assist the diagnostic engineers with debugging and developing embedded drivers and diagnostic tests written in "C" language.
- Verify circuit designs using a variety of test gear: 20 GHz oscilloscopes, network analyzers, interface testers.
- Test and debug circuit boards under various thermal and environmental conditions.
- Complete the final assembly of new prototype units.
- Qualify new circuit components.
- Solid knowledge of hardware electronics concepts and electronic test equipment including oscilloscopes and multi-meters.
- Basic knowledge of Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word.
- Self-confidence, self-motivation, and a strong work ethic with excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
It would be nice if you also have:
- Familiarity with scripting languages like Perl, Python, TCL, and VBS
- Familiarity with "C" programming language
- Familiarity with GIT software control system
- Familiarity with the Linux operating system
