The Center for PreCollege Programs administers precollege and pipeline programs designed to educate, inspire, and prepare students to be successful in secondary and post-secondary education while promoting a college-going culture. The commitment is to support students by providing opportunities to achieve and grow. The Center for PreCollege Programs (
CPP) includes federal
TRIO programs, Talent Search and Upward Bound, University-Assisted Partnerships with local high schools, and the Newark Rutgers Future Scholars Program. The Center for PreCollege Programs facilitates strategic relationships with school districts, community partners, government stakeholders, and collaborative partnerships. This position is responsible for and not limited to the following.
This position is responsible for and not limited to the following:
- Performs professional work to support the program, which requires knowledge of acquisition and general administrative/office management practice
- Uses strong organizational skills, ability to prioritize work, professionalism, confidentiality, and the ability to be flexible
- Responsible for all aspects of programming acquisition
- Order and create requisitions for supplies, conferences, programming, and activities.
- Assists in training, supervising, evaluating, scheduling, and collecting time reports of work-study student staff and volunteers
- Assists in campus outreach activities and data tracking.
- Plans and attends special events
- Requires early evening and weekend hours
The position is dependent on adequate external funding.

Qualifications
Minimum Education and Experience |
- Bachelor's degree in a related field or an equivalent combination of education and/or experience that demonstrates knowledge and understanding of Precollege programming
|
Certifications/Licenses |

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities |
- Must possess a valid NJ driver's license and access to a properly registered vehicle.
- Requires excellent communication, interpersonal, presentation, and organizational skills.
- Requires a strong service orientation and interacting effectively with students, educators, staff, and parents.
- Computer literate and basic math skills. Familiar with Excel and Word. Strong organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications |
- Bachelor's degree preferred
- Experience with low-income, first-generation populations
- Knowledge and understanding of Precollege programming

Physical Demands and Work Environment |
- Must be able to lift and move boxes/containers weighing up to 40 pounds.
- Availability for early evening and Saturday hours.
