Sr Program Manager, Back Office

Primary Responsibilities:



  • Manage and lead Project Managers under the Back-Office domain of programs and projects including but not limited to IT, Operations and Engineering, Finance, Customer Service, Supply Chain and Procurement organizations while working with multiple internal and external cross-functional teams including Commercial, Strategy, Mergers & Acquisitions, Legal, and Compliance.
  • Support Project Managers with project planning and timelines, project charter, gather business requirements and ensuring key project objectives are in line with PMO processes.
  • Support the development of business strategies for joint ventures or new business opportunities and manage the entire diligence and integration planning processes, engaging internal and external stakeholders and local/global teams to build out priorities, workstreams and identify key area of risk and change management that are necessary for a smooth transition.
  • Supervise weekly and monthly project status reporting to the executive committee, department leaders, and executive management. Ensure communication is effective on assigned projects under the Back-Office domain in a concise weekly/monthly format.
  • Supervise execution of project assignments to Project Managers with ability to assess change impact and revise plans as appropriate to recover and meet timelines and milestones. Work closely with project sponsors and/or team members, from plan development to final completion and deliver projects on-time and within budget.
  • Supervise status of all assigned project action items and guide Project Managers as required. Assist Project Managers with resolve project issues, mitigating risks, managing scope, and change requests using internal PMO controls and procedures.
  • Work with Project Managers to reduce project roadblocks and meets project goals and objectives by complying with Corporate SOP's and procedures for workflow and driving accountability and results.
  • Manage PMO administrative tasks such as strategic planning, budgeting, project and portfolio tools administration as required.
  • Work with the Director of PMO to continually enhance PMO process and methodologies to streamline and standardize key business processes across business divisions and functions.
  • Initiate and maintain outside contractor/supplier/vendor relations.
  • Other duties as assigned.



Qualifications & Experience:



  • Minimum of 10+ years of project management experience leading business projects, driving and delivering within multiple integrated work streams. Experienced Program Manager preferred.
  • Experience working in a cross-functional and global environment.
  • Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Project Management, Operations Management or related field preferred.
  • PMP Certification preferred. Scrum or Lean/Six Sigma education or background a plus.
  • Strong cross-functional project management knowledge and skills.
  • Exhibit executive presence and possess strong organizational acumen.
  • Project Management Tools Experience (Power PPM, Planview, Acuity, Clarity, etc) required. MS Office Suite, MS Project, proficiency necessary. CAD or Visio proficiency a plus.
  • Optical lens manufacturing/optical laboratory industry experience preferred. Experience with contract negotiation required.
  • Ability to travel nationally and internationally as required.

  • Motivated self-starter who can handle projects and complexities with minimal supervision.
  • Flexible managing multiple assignments and be proficient in managing priorities.
  • Strong team player skills, with a collaborative and solution-driven mentality.
