Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Regional Lean Manager for our Electrical Business Unit. Reporting to the Director of Continuous Improvement, this person will be responsible for planning, establishing, implementing, and maintaining continuous improvement programs. Focused on the "Central" Atkore Plant locations, they include, but may not be limited to, supporting Springfield, MO and Albuquerque, NM.

The ideal candidate will have a bachelor's degree and a 5 to 7 years of similar work experience in a manufacturing operation. Experience in lean manufacturing or business system-based company is required.

What you'll do:



  • Lean Daily Management (Atkore Business System)


    • Identify and create Standard Processes throughout the organization.
    • Lead process improvement workshops and improvement projects to drive business results across the organization.
    • Partner with all functions to define process capabilities, assess gaps and develop gap closure plans.
    • Ensure site level goals and metrics are aligned to the Conduit and Fittings business strategy.
    • Engage the plant teams in setting specific goals around Lean initiatives. This includes working with leadership to drive overall improvements in specific areas to drive Safety, Quality, Delivery and Cost.
    • Provide functional leadership with awareness, knowledge and guidance of Lean principles, methodologies and tools to support achievement of ABS business objectives.
    • Plan and facilitate kaizen activities/events across the designated region.
    • Plan, coordinate, and teach Lean tools to employees in the designated region.


  • Must have:


    • History of successful kaizen
    • Success in LEAN culture and sustainment
    • Strong implementation practices of 5S, SMED, Material Flow, TPM, VSM



What you'll bring:



  • Bachelor's degree with a minimum of 5-7 years of similar work experience in a manufacturing operation; or an equivalent number of years of education and work experience required.
  • History leading and supporting Kaizen events (5S, SMED, Kanban, TPM etc.).
  • Knowledge of manufacturing processes and technology preferred.
  • Possess a high level of technical expertise, ability to apply skills to continuous process improvement while maintaining maximum levels of safety.
  • Ability to influence and communicate effectively at all levels of the organization from senior management to hourly employees.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Excel and PowerPoint.
  • Ability to occasionally work off shift to provide training and facilitate continuous improvement initiatives to all production shifts.
  • Ability to work both as a member of a team, a team leader or as an individual contributor.
  • Experience developing and documenting Standard Work for all levels of the organization.
  • Must be able to travel up to 50% of the time.
  • Ability to sit at a PPC site within assigned region.

  • Gain an understanding of the company and teammates.


Within 6 months, you'll:

  • Ability to lead Lean Daily Management (Atkore Business System)


Within 12 months, you'll:



  • Identify and create Standard Processes throughout the organization.
  • Lead process improvement workshops and improvement projects to drive business results across the organization.
  • Partner with all functions to define process capabilities, assess gaps and develop gap closure plans.
  • Ensure site level goals and metrics are aligned to the PVC Pipe & Conduit business strategy.
