Job Summary

Essential Functions

• All team members are expected to be knowledgeable and compliant with Prisma Health's values: Inspire health. Serve with compassion. Be the difference.

• Maintains statistical data on all inquiry calls/assessments/no shows, daily activities of Intake & Assessment Department.

• Evaluates patients at various healthcare facilities.

• Provides clinical information to insurance companies for pre-certification.

• Provides telephone assessment for professionals in the community to determine clinical appropriateness for admission.

• RepresentsPrisma Healthin a positive manner when interacting with community professionals.

• Performs other duties as assigned.

Supervisory/Management Responsibilities

• This is a non-management job that report to a supervisor, manager, director or executive.

Minimum Requirements

• Education - Master's degree in Social Work, Psychology, Rehabilitation Counseling or related field of study.

• Experience - Three (3) years of psychiatric social work or counseling experience in a hospital setting

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

• Emergency room experience.

• Group therapy, private practice exposure.

• Individual, family and marriage counseling experience.

• Must possess skills necessary to assess patients of all ages.

• Ability to communicate with appropriate nomenclature when reviewing patients with physicians.

• Knowledge of all programs within the Prisma Health System.

• Ability to type and complete Clinical Documentation on the computerized documentation system.
