BPN Patient Access Manager

GENERAL SUMMARY:

Responsible for managing the overall functions of Patient Access processes at each BPN location (Registration, Scheduling & Reception and other clinic functions as assigned). Ensures the highest levels of patient, provider, employee and customer relations. Includes management oversight of registration, scheduling and reception functions to ensure accurate information for patient check in, billing and collection activities. Responsible for implementing and maintaining necessary internal control procedures, adherence to Registration and Scheduling guidelines and for standardization among the locations to assure maximum efficiencies and coverage.

PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values.

2. *In collaboration with both the BPN Revenue Cycle Manager and the BPN Practice Manager, oversees operations of all aspects of the Patient Access team. Serves as work resource for staff; responds to staff requests for assistance; assesses and resolves each situation as appropriate.

3. *In collaboration with BPN Practice Manager delegates and directs workload/periodic assignments and monitors employee's progress to ensure timely completion; ensures effective employee use of time and other resources.

4. *In collaboration with the BPN Revenue Cycle Manager, BPN Practice Managers, providers, other organizations and ancillary departments to create efficient and customer-focused process for registering and scheduling patients.

5. *Ensures Patient Access staff deliver the highest level of customer service. Investigates and resolves provider, staff and patient complaints.

6. *In collaboration with leaders including the BPN Practice Manager, BPN Revenue Cycle Manager and the Director of Patient Access to establish and monitor patient registration systems and processes to standardize processes, identify errors, exceptions, and discrepancies in the scheduling, and reception/registration process and to bring forward recommendations to the Sched/Reg Work Team for potential system-wide implementation.

7. In collaboration with BPN Revenue Cycle Manager with input from the BPN Practice Manager, develops and oversees the departmental budget to ensure proper operational and capital planning; appropriate and efficient use of resources; and consistent compliance to budgetary and fiscal controls.

8. *In collaboration with BPN Revenue Cycle Manager with input from the BPN Practice Manager, responsible for hiring, training, supervising, coaching, mentoring, retaining and evaluating of team members.

9. *In collaboration with appropriate leadership, pursues and implements industry best practices to ensure that Bryan Physician Network Patient Access staff and functions support the mission of Bryan Physician Network to provide excellent customer service to the patients we serve.

10. *Performs Evidence Based Leadership Practices including 90-day action plans, staff development, LDI participation, reward and recognition programs, thank you notes employee performance evaluations and rounding on team members.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree in business, finance, or healthcare-related field required. Minimum of two (2) years supervisory or management experience required. Prior clinical or medical procedure scheduling experience required. Experience in registration and other revenue cycle operations preferred.
