GENERAL SUMMARY: Performs skin, body and hair removal treatments on clients at The Spa at Bryan South Campus. Consults with clients to assess their skin requirements, makes informed recommendations, explains services, assists them in selecting appropriate treatments and ensures their care and satisfaction. Functions within the framework of Bryan Medical Center policies and procedures and within the legal requirements of the state. PRINCIPAL JOB FUNCTIONS: 1. *Commits to the mission, vision, beliefs and consistently demonstrates our core values. 2. *Uses authorized procedures (assessments, planning, intervention and evaluation) to provide and ensure appropriate skin care and to meet the needs of the clients. 3. *Maintains and demonstrates a thorough working knowledge of all skin care products and procedures performed at The Spa to ensure client safety and to promote and sell services and retail products. 4. *Recognizes signs/symptoms indicative of client needs for interventions and documents implementation of appropriate action. 5. *Consults with physician or other provider when indicated to develop skin care plan unique to patient. 6. *Prepares, administers and documents procedures and treatments according to established policies and procedures; documents the client response to care and modifies the plan of care as needed, seeking provider input when indicated. 7. *Maintains client confidentiality and sensitivity to age and gender related issues during all client interactions; reports any unusual client interactions to supervisor immediately. 8. *Demonstrates respect, sensitivity, and concern for client's needs with a professional and pleasant manner. 9. *Interacts cooperatively and considerately with clients and co-workers. 10. *Performs skin consultations, obtains health history from clients including interviewing to obtain information about contraindications or precautions and examines skin to evaluate suitability of treatments before each visit. 11. *Advises clients on skin care, recommends suitable treatments and home care regimens, provides supportive teaching and responds to all questions. 12. *Performs facials, waxing, chemical peels, acne treatments, cosmetic enhancements, manicures, pedicures and full body treatments using recommended procedures and sanitation processes. 13. *Maintains a clean and tidy workspace, sanitizing equipment in accordance with policy, and that linens are clean at all times, and maintains a neat and well-stocked room. 14. *Maintains schedules and work hours based on client bookings; demonstrates flexibility and willingness to adjust work hours to meet client needs and adheres to seeing scheduled clients in a timely manner. 15. Completes and submits necessary paperwork and client documentation, checks email regularly, and reads posted information on department bulletin boards. 16. Maintains professional growth and development through seminars, workshops, and professional affiliations to keep abreast of latest trends in field of expertise. 17. *Assists Cancer Program Operations Manager in strategic development of wellness programming as related to professional field such as educational talks, wellness offerings, aromatherapy programming, pop-up service offerings. 18. *May be asked to occasionally assist in answering calls, relaying messages in a timely manner, returning client/patient calls providing information as appropriate. 19. *Uses interpersonal skills to present a professional image and communicate effectively in person and by telephone and email. 20. *May be asked to occasionally assist in the scheduling of new and returning client/patient appointments; as well as accurately entering client/patient demographic information 21. Provides customer service and sales support to retail shop clientele. 22. *May be asked to occasionally assist in collecting payments, administering discounts, and posting payments to patient/client accounts 23. *Communicates and cooperates with all levels of personnel, medical staff, auxiliary and ancillary departments. 24. Participates in meetings, committees and department projects as assigned. 25. Performs other related projects and duties as assigned. (Essential Job functions are marked with an asterisk "*". Attach Addendum for positions with slightly different roles or work-specific differences as needed. REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES: 1. Knowledge of skin care products and procedures. 2. Knowledge of computer hardware equipment and software applications relevant to work functions. 3. Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. 4. Ability to assess and follow through to ensure that client needs are met/exceeded. 5. Ability to exercise courtesy and professionalism in all interactions. 6. Ability to maintain confidentiality relevant to sensitive information. 7. Ability to sell product to clients based on their experience with the product during their visit. 8. Ability to prioritize work demands and work with minimal supervision. 9. Ability to problem solve and engage independent critical thinking skills. 10. Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with all levels of personnel and medical staff. 11. Ability to maintain regular and punctual attendance. EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE: High school diploma or GED required. Current licensure as an Esthetician in the State of Nebraska required. Prior esthetic experience preferred. OTHER CREDENTIALS / CERTIFICATIONS: Basic Life Support (CPR) certification required within six (6) months of hire. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: (Physical Requirements are based on federal criteria and assigned by Human Resources upon review of the Principal Job Functions.)
