Financial Analyst provides support to Senior Financial Analysts and Finance Manager in overseeing a wide variety of OSU funds within the OSU Comprehensive Cancer Center (OSUCCC). Responsibilities Include:
Performs monthly reconciliation and analysis of funds including over 150 James Development and Endowment funds totaling approximately $15.9 Million Works directly with the OSUCCC supported Faculty to provide support in financial management, Budgeting, Reporting, Fund Analysis and other financial services as needed Alerts Finance Manager of discrepancies, errors, and non-compliance to fund expenditures Performs reconciliation of Payroll transactions on the general ledger and completes HR transactions in the University systems as needed nitiates journal transactions Initiates deposit journals Monitors fund balances to alert Finance Manager of potential deficits or problems Reviews, reconciles and verifies necessary backup documentation and that appropriate approvals have been received for all supply, service, and equipment expenditures Performs analysis of budget to actual data on monthly, quarterly, and annual bases for fund financial review and forecasting Monitors accounting practices assuring compliance with audit standards Provides information on OSU and OSUCCC departmental fiscal policies and procedures Obtains voucher approvals for payment processing Works with CCC Purchasing Shared service support to resolve procurement issues with vendors or other departments when needed, utilizes University's HR, Financial, and Procurement systems to manage information Performs random sample internal audits of financial transactions including travel, pcard, purchase orders, and reimbursements Reviews Office of Sponsored Programs (OSP) travel requests and payment requests for travel policy compliance Helps maintain fiscal records and files Participates in year-end account closing activities Processes, performs other financial and accounting duties as assigned.
Minimum Education Required:
Bachelors Degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration or an equivalent combination of education and experience required. Two years of relevant experience required Two to four years preferred. Strong analytical skills, computer skills, and the ability to manage time efficiently to complete multiple tasks with competing deadlines. Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Office desired. Knowledge of the general ledger is desirable. Requires successful completion of a background check; selected candidate may be asked to complete a pre-employment physical including a drug screen.
