Requisition ID req32007 Working Title Accountant 3 Position Grade 13 Position Summary The University of New Mexico, School of Medicine, Department of Psychiatry and Behavioral Sciences, is looking for an experienced, dynamic, self-motivated individual to serve its accounting team as an Accountant 3. The selected candidate will have demonstrated experience working with federal, state, and non-profit contracts and grants. Our Accountant 3 will supervise, train, and oversee the team's day-to-day accounting operations, maintain internal controls, research and problem solve budgets, procurement, billing, and expenditure issues. This position will participate in a variety of budget and financial meetings involving department leaders, sponsors, and external stakeholders. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter, highly motivated and responsive with exceptional interpersonal skills, excellent organizational skills, and the ability to establish priorities and complete projects on time. Being a team player, demonstrating excellent verbal/written communication skills, and having the ability to work independently as well as overseeing the work of others is essential. Conditions of Employment Minimum Qualifications Bachelor's degree and successful completion of at least 15 credit hours of university-level accounting through intermediate accounting; at least 3 years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified. Completed degree(s) from an accredited institution that are above the minimum education requirement may be substituted for experience on a year for year basis. Preferred Qualifications
