Summary

As a Kafka Cloud/DevOps Engineer, you will use cutting edge cloud and data technologies to help global brands and federal agencies solve challenging problems through innovative technology solutions. What You'll Be Doing

• Work in a team with other smart AIS employees using cutting edge technologies to solve challenging business problems.
• Build elegant, scalable, extensible, cost-effective solutions with an eye towards innovation and agility.
• Utilize problem-solving and decision-making skills to understand pain points and to self- troubleshoot as challenges arise.
• Design and implement data pipelines using Apache Kafka.
• Collaborate with other development teams to integrate Kafka with various data sources.
• Develop streaming applications by using Kafka Streams and Kafka Connect.
• Ensure data integrity and security by implementing proper data access and encryption methods.
• Troubleshoot and optimize Kafka clusters for performance and reliability.
• Provide mentorship to junior engineers.
• Learn new technologies and be aware of industry standards, best practices, and trends.

Location and Travel details

• This is a remote position with occasional travel (if needed)

Required Skills

• Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field or equivalent work experience.
• 5-10 years of work experience as DevOps/Cloud engineer with relevant technologies.
• 3-5 years depth in experience with Azure Kubernetes.
• Authoring and maintaining Helm charts.
• Application deployments and lifecycle management with Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Deep Terraform experience: module creation, Terraform cloud knowledge.
• 3 years of experience with Python and/or other script languages (bash, PowerShell)
• Azure Infrastructure knowledge
• Apache Kafka, confluent cloud, platform, and connectors
• Good communication, strong interpersonal skills
