Job Title: Nurse Practitioner / Physician Assistant - Pain Management Location: Jackson, MI Department: Pain Management Inpatient/Outpatient: inpatient and outpatient Position Overview: This is an Advanced Practice Professional (APP) job opening. Only qualified/experienced NP and PA applicants will be considered. No new graduates. Advanced Practice Professional will provide health care and specialized health services to patients and families enrolled in Pain Clinic Medicine. The APP will coordinate care of this patient population in collaboration with all members of the health care team. This position will be inpatient and outpatient. And the APP will be required to cover 1 weekend per month inpatient. Variable Schedule. Weekend Schedule: 4 hours Saturday, 4 hours Sunday. Candidates will have experience in neurology, neurosurgery, pain management, and orthopedics can be helpful. History of taking physical exam, documentation, billing/coding, prior authorization, peer-to-peer, patient education, opioid management. Clinical exam, EMR documentation, work collaboratively with other APP and MDs, communicate with patients, families, other departments, insurers, and support staff for effective and efficient pain management care, learn and implement full array of pain management, provide coverage for inpatient pain consult service. Qualifications: * NP - Completion of a Nurse Practitioner training program accredited by the Commission on the Collegiate of Nursing Education (CCNE) or the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission (NLNAC) * PA - Completion of a Physician Assistant training program accredited by the Accreditation Review Commission on Education for the Physician Assistant (ARC-PA) * NP - Certification by a certification body recognized by the State of Michigan * PA - Certification by National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants (NCCPA) Licensure and Certification * Current licensure as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant in the state of Michigan, or in process of applying (must have proof of application) * National certification as an NP or PA (e.g., ANCC, AANP, NCCPA) * Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certification required. * Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required. * DEA/CSL, required through credentialing. * DEA - NPs do not have controlled substance licenses, only PAs. When NPs apply, they will enter MI license number instead of controlled substance license since they won't have a CSL.
