Windsor Laurelwood is searching for a caring and compassionate master's prepared mental health clinician or Licensed RN for the Shift Lead of Intake position in our busy Admissions Department. The Shift Lead of Intake assists the department director with ensuring all intake/admissions tasks and activities are completed accurately and coordinates the intake workflow while on shift in the department. This person is the primary person who trains new Admissions Clinicians to ensure their knowledge and understanding of the intake/admission process. This position interfaces closely with both internal hospital staff, facility physicians, as well as external referrals including hospitals, patients, families, and community referral sources. The working position of this individual assists in daily administrative duties of the department and ensures staff compliance with all policy and procedures and applicable mental health laws, codes, rules and regulations.


Qualifications

Job Requirements:

Excellent communication skills, i.e., verbal and written. Ability to prioritize; work well under periods of high stress and pressure. Ability to multi-task and demonstrate critical thinking skills. Demonstrates an understanding of funding entities. Thorough knowledge of psychiatric services provided by the hospital. Ability to work flexible hours. Requires a basic understanding of computers, and accurate data entry skills. Knowledge of insurance contracts and payers. Knowledge of precertification for residential treatment. Experience gathering and documenting medical and clinical information to assess and staff appropriately with physician. Working knowledge of DSM-V diagnostic criteria, mental status exam, and addiction and recovery field. Excellent customer service skills as evidenced by supportive and constructive communication with all contacts including coworkers, patients, visitors, families and referral sources. Skill set to prioritize, assign tasks, and hold staff accountable for their completion.

Education: Master's Degree in Human Service field (e.g., Social Work, Counseling, Psychology, etc.), or RN - preferably BSN.

Experience: A minimum of one to two (1-2) years direct clinical experience in a psychiatric or mental health setting desirable. Working knowledge and experience in clinical interviewing, patient assessment, family motivation, treatment planning, communicating with external review organizations or comparable entities, and working effectively with people of diverse backgrounds.
