Healthcare Learning Developer

This position requires the ability to obtain a Public Trust to be considered. US citizenship required per our government client.

The Healthcare Learning Developer assists the Defense Health Agency Clinical Quality Management, Patient Safety Program (PSP) with creating, updating and improving curriculum to enhance subject matter expertise and clinical leadership.

Compensation & Benefits:

Estimated Starting Salary Range for Healthcare Learning Developer: Wage range starts at $80,000

Pay commensurate with experience.

Full time benefits include Medical, Dental, Vision, 401K, and other possible benefits as provided. Benefits are subject to change with or without notice.

Healthcare Learning Developer Responsibilities Include:



  • Design and develop engaging educational materials (eLearning courses, workshops, manuals) for healthcare professionals.
  • Assess learning needs and create tailored programs, collaborating with subject matter experts to ensure content accuracy.
  • Deliver training both in-person and virtually, ensuring effective application of material.
  • Evaluate program effectiveness using feedback and data to make improvements.
  • Stay current with adult learning trends and healthcare education best practices.
  • Partner with government, military, and contract personnel to identify learning gaps.
  • Provide guidance in planning, developing, and implementing educational activities supporting patient safety initiatives.
  • Focus on emerging quality and safety topics, revisions to core curricula, and the development of patient safety professionals.
  • Advise on curriculum design and compliance with educational objectives, ensuring integration with clinical quality management.
  • Develop and evaluate quality and safety solutions to mitigate patient harm, advance a culture of safety, strengthen staff resilience, and engage leadership.
  • Promote a systems-based approach to quality and safety, translating real adverse events into scenario-based learning and simulations.
  • Support quality improvement projects, especially for new residents, through event-based simulations and interdisciplinary team evaluations.
  • Assist in the design of webinars and learning events, providing faculty development in effective teaching strategies and media adaptation, including simulation.
  • Conduct needs assessments and coordinate curriculum development efforts to ensure alignment with professional staff goals and outcomes.
  • Oversee the evaluation of educational programs and support patient safety initiatives across the organization.
  • Performs other job-related duties as assigned


Healthcare Learning Developer Experience, Education, Skills, Abilities requested:



  • Requires a minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Education, Instructional Design, Healthcare Administration, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in developing training for adult learners.
  • Two years of related experience in a healthcare environment highly preferred.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, creativity, attention to detail, and familiarity with eLearning platforms.
  • Knowledge of adult learning theory (e.g., the ADDIE Model, Andragogy, etc.)
  • Knowledge of the Kirkpatrick Model of evaluation is preferred.
  • Knowledge of Captivate is preferred.
  • Skilled in the use of common business software applications of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Working knowledge of SharePoint repositories.
  • Ability to skillfully conduct online meetings using MS Teams.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Tolerance for ambiguity and ability to work in a fast-changing environment
  • Must pass pre-employment qualifications of Cherokee Federal
