ABOUT THE ROLE & TEAM

As Proposal Manager, you will be responsible for managing the timely delivery of proposals and collateral for all bids within a designated region. The position plays an active part within the overall Bid Team to manage the entire proposal project life cycle, challenge solutions and drive best practice for major or complex deals.

You will be accountable for overseeing the end-to-end proposal development process to produce high-quality, compliant, and compelling proposals that align with client requirements and organizational objectives.

Reporting to the Proposal Management Lead, you will be a part of the Proposal Management Team responsible for coordinating, developing, and delivering high-quality, compelling, and compliant proposals that align with client needs and organizational goals. Responsibilities span strategic planning, content creation, process management, and post-submission activities.

WHAT YOU WILL DO:

  • Responsible for the timely delivery of all allocated proposal projects for the region, ensuring the highest quality of customer deliverables
  • Produce & manage the proposal project plan (including risk analysis & contingency planning), ensuring that all necessary activities are completed on time
  • Facilitate the proposal strategy meeting with the account manager/bid team and other key proposal contributors to 'storyboard' proposal content based on customer & competitive analysis;
  • Facilitate Pre-Proposal planning meetings with the Account Manager/Bid team to ensure that appropriate steps are taken to maximize the proposal chance of success
  • Ensure a consistent and clear story in the overall proposal document by reviewing and providing critique to the content produced by the contributors and Proposal Writers
  • Lead proposal development reviews by providing objective facilitation and developing clear action plans
  • Make sound decisions regarding the purchase of supplies, engagement of subcontracts/outsourcing (e.g. printing) and associated management of costs for the region
  • Develop and maintain relationship with Regional Marketing to facilitate the flow of region-specific information (e.g. news, awards, activities) into the regional proposal team and pre-written content library
  • Actively participate in the ongoing development of content of the Knowledge Management Database within the proposal management function in SITA.


Qualifications

WHO YOU ARE:

  • Bachelor degree in a numerate, business or languages discipline or significant relevant experience.
  • Ideally, holding at least Practitioner level APMP (Association of Proposal Management Professionals) accreditation and/or equivalent formal training in Proposal or Bid Management.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience within commercial industry, ideally IT, telecoms, air transport or managed services provision.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience within the field of bids & proposals - in purchasing and/or sales - including exposure to the vendor side.

NICE-TO-HAVE:

    • Understanding of federal procurement process
    • Graphics and technical writing
