Job Summary *Demonstrates an in-depth knowledge and proactively applies the scientific method or engineering design process and statistics across multiple disciplines. *Defines the technologies needed to solve complex problems or develop new products or applications and effectively incorporates those into value added solutions. *Demonstrates insight into various emerging technologies and market/application trends to further technical objectives and meet customer or other stakeholder needs. Business, Competitor, Market and Customer Expertise and Impact *Advanced understanding of work group and business strategy. *Works with peers in business units to evaluate ideas for business appropriateness and participates in setting the objectives of the work group based on current business needs. *Recognizes the impact of experimental work on business results. Intellectual Property and Documentation: *Monitors the competition and market trends relative to IFF's IP positions and integrates the information into group activities and projects. *Actively seeks opportunities to generate IP. *Developing a track record of documenting work internally, and when appropriate externally, in a manner and timing which is consistent with capturing and protecting its value for IFF. Communication: *Delivers presentations or reports that distill complex ideas into clear results and proposals for varied audiences. *Known for leadership in documenting research results in appropriate formats. *Uses communication appropriately to influence internal and external audiences. Collaborative Leadership: *Demonstrates ability to lead projects of limited size and scope. Functions independently in area of technical expertise and defines scope and deliverables more broadly than a technical SME. *Actively promotes a collaborative effort with peers, subordinates, supervisors and team members. *Seeks to leverage external networks for project success and engages regularly in appropriate scientific/professional communities. *Trains and provides developmental coaching to peers in related functions beyond the work group. *Persuades / Influences the team. Beginning to serve as a mentor to peers.
