Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP-one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East-is seeking a Director of Partner Recruiting and Integration, reporting to the Chief Business Development Officer.

The Director of Partner Recruiting and Integration will be responsible for overseeing and managing a team dedicated to the recruitment and seamless integration of lateral partners and teams. The Director of Partner Recruiting and Integration will work closely with firm management, practice group leaders, and other key stakeholders to align recruitment efforts with the firm's strategic goals and ensure a smooth recruitment and integration for new lateral partners.

This position can reside in most of the firm's east coast offices. The expectation is that the Director of Partner Recruiting and Integration will work in their assigned office three days per week and remotely two days, with additional in-office time subject to workflow demands.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, mentor, and manage the Partner Recruiting and Integration team, ensuring high performance and alignment with the firm's strategic priorities.

  • Collaborate with firm management, practice group leaders, and other stakeholders to identify strategic hiring needs and prioritize recruitment efforts.

  • Guide the team in developing and executing targeted lateral partner recruitment strategies to attract top-tier legal talent.

  • Monitor market trends and competitor activity to identify potential candidates and opportunities for lateral partner recruitment.

  • Oversee the development and implementation of integration plans to ensure new lateral partners are successfully onboarded and aligned with the firm's culture, values, and business objectives.

  • Collaborate with practice group leaders and business development professionals to support new partners in building internal networks and client relationships.

  • Monitor the integration process and address any challenges that arise, ensuring a positive and productive experience for new partners.

  • Serve as a trusted advisor to firm leadership on partner recruitment and integration matters, providing strategic insights and recommendations.

  • Build strong relationships with practice group leaders to understand their needs and ensure alignment between recruitment efforts and business objectives.

  • Act as a liaison between the Partner Recruiting and Integration team and other departments, including business development, marketing, and human resources.

  • Evaluate and enhance recruitment and integration processes to improve efficiency, effectiveness, and candidate experience.

  • Develop and deliver regular reports to firm leadership on recruitment metrics, market trends, and integration outcomes.

Experience and qualifications needed to perform this job successfully:

  • Bachelor's degree (B.A.) from a four-year college or university

  • Minimum of 7-10 years of relevant experience, including leadership or management experience

  • Law firm or other professional services experience is preferred

  • Demonstrated capacity to develop and implement strategic business plans

  • Experience exceling in a highly matrixed environment and working across multiple business units and functional teams

  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build relationships with a wide range of individuals

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills and effective presentation skills

  • Results oriented with time management and organizational skills to prioritize work and handle multiple projects in a fast-paced, constantly evolving environment

  • Commitment to exceptional client service and dedication to high-quality work

  • Ability to take initiative, anticipate needs, and exercise independent, sound judgmentto influence decision-making and effectively interface with executive management

  • Ability to work independently as well as manage projects and assignments in a collaborative team environment

  • Discretion in dealing with confidential information

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite,experience with Interaction, and knowledge of platforms/website/social media tools and resources is a plus

For positions in Hartford, CT, the salary range for this position is: $159,400.00 - $255,025.00.

For positions in New York, NY, the salary range for this position is $189,800.00 - $303,650.00.

For positions in Washington, D.C., the salary range for this position is $174,600.00 - $279,300.00.

The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
