In the role of Senior Fisheries Biologist, we'll count on you to:

  • Serve as a technical expert with recognized authority in an area of specialization that resolves problems of great scope and complexity
  • Plan and develop projects or design activities that have significant impact on major company programs as needed
  • Plan, direct and monitor all aspects of large environmental/water resources multidiscipline projects, or medium-size projects with high degree of technical complexity
  • Plan, organize and supervise work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed
  • Serve as Project Manager on larger projects as needed, although project management is not the sole focus of this position
  • Perform other duties as needed
  • Guides technical day-to-day implementation of studies, participates in fieldwork, writes reports, and is key to leading tasks while maintaining reasonable budget
  • Serve to mentor junior fisheries staff, and participate in the regional and national fisheries practice group
  • Participate in local, regional and national professional groups (AFS) and perform some marketing to current and potential clients
  • Develop and execute fisheries and related studies
  • Coordinate with Agency staff on study goals/objectives and permitting
  • Comfortable in difficult field settings and some travel may be required


Preferred Qualifications

  • MS
  • Project management experience
  • Familiarity with multiple fisheries sampling methods and data analysis techniques

Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Biology or closely related field
  • A minimum of 15 years related experience
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office
  • Highly motivated self-starter
  • Leadership skills and ability to manage in a team environment
  • Excellent communication skills

The expected compensation range for this position is $112,000.00 - $179,300.00 annually depending upon skills, experience, education and geographical location.
