Engineer, Mechanical

We have an opportunity for an Engineer, Mechanical to join our Apex, NC team. You will work on a wide range of IoT based product lines that help make pool maintenance and upkeep easy and effortless for our customers. Our site houses a state-of-the-art test lab for design testing and validation, and we work hand in hand with our manufacturing counterparts across North America to bring products to life.

You will:

• New product development and product enhancement.
• Work with a cross-functional team to design and implement those ideas using CAD models, drawings, product cost estimates, material and product standards, bill of materials, prototyping, and testing of products.
• Support production operations as required through design for manufacturing.
• Meet with vendors when needed to review all related product issues, materials, and costs.

Key Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in engineering required.
• 3 years of experience minimum
• Design and development focus with experience/knowledge of pumps, hydraulics, or water treatment a plus.
• Knowledge of CAD programs including SolidWorks required.
• Knowledge of GD&T required.
• Experience with finite element analysis and computational fluid dynamics is a plus.
• Design for manufacturing (injection-molding) required.
• Computer skills including a proficiency in MS Office. Knowledge of engineering calculation tools required (Mathcad, MATLAB and/or similar).
• Ability to work within and meet aggressive deadlines with stage gate process experience required.
• Detail oriented, have solid organizational skills, be capable of multi-tasking and have strong written and oral communication skills.
• Strong problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work well with a cross-functional team.
• Ability to work with international teams.
• Some domestic and international travel may be required.

Compensation:

For this full-time position working at this location, the anticipated annualized base pay range will be from $71,000 - $131,800 / year. At Pentair, it is not typical for an individual to be hired near the bottom or top of the pay range. Pentair considers various factors in determining actual compensation for this position at the expected location. Actual compensation will be commensurate with demonstrable level of experience and training, pertinent education including licensure and certifications, work location, and other relevant business or organizational needs.

This position may be eligible for other forms of compensation such as, annual incentive bonus.
