Job Title: Food Equipment Service Technician
Location: Torrance, CA (onsite)
Work hour: 9:00 am- 5:30 pm (Monday to Friday)
FLSA: Non-Exempt, Full-Time,
OVERVIEW
A global commercial food equipment manufacturer is seeking a Service Technician to join their team in Torrance, CA. This role primarily focuses on diagnosing and repairing equipment using mechanical expertise. Additionally, the technician will assist with occasional equipment installations at client sites (less than 10% travel) and support warehouse shipping operations. Training and skill development will be provided.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE BUT NOT ARE LIMITED TO:
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues, adjusting, aligning, and lubricating machinery as needed.
Identify and report additional maintenance needs to the Manager.
Prepare and submit field service reports and technical documentation.
Respond to customer inquiries, providing solutions and recommending alternatives when necessary.
Install, test, and ensure the full functionality of new or modified equipment at customer sites.
Conduct on-site visits to diagnose equipment issues and determine appropriate repair or replacement solutions.
Train customers on proper equipment use and basic maintenance procedures.
Assist with shipping tasks, including equipment inspection and packaging for delivery.
Perform inventory control and maintain a clean, organized warehouse environment.
Maintain a professional demeanor and collaborate effectively with Sales and Operations teams.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Minimum 2 years of mechanical experience required.
Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering preferred but not required.
Experience in food equipment repair is a plus.
Willingness to travel by personal vehicle (approximately 10% travel).
Strong organizational skills and excellent customer service abilities.
Ability to lift up to 60 pounds.
Japanese bilingual skills are a plus.
