Your Role:

As an intern at Vital Farms, you'll gain hands-on experience in a collaborative, purpose-driven environment dedicated to ethical food and sustainability. You'll work on meaningful projects, tackle real-world challenges, and develop valuable skills while getting a unique behind-the-scenes look at how our business operates. You'll have the chance to engage with leaders from every area of the business, gaining valuable insight into strategic decision-making and the collaborative efforts that drive success. This is more than just an internship-it's your chance to grow, learn, and be part of something bigger while contributing to a mission that makes a real difference!

Dates of Program: June 2, 2025 - August 8, 2025

Application Time Frame: February 3, 2025 - March 3, 2025

What You'll Do:



  • Build strong relationships by learning the details and backgrounds of the farmers you support.
  • Collect and review data to ensure accuracy and completeness.
  • Maintain precise and organized record-keeping practices.
  • Document farm activities and processes thoroughly.
  • Utilize our "electronic egg" system to reduce Class B on-farm issues.
  • Research and identify best practices and products for hydration during summer heat conditions.
  • Embrace a "farmer-first" mindset by putting yourself in their shoes and approaching every interaction with empathy and understanding.


Your Project:



  • Identify farms with elevated Class B data, troubleshoot on-farm issues affecting farmers, and develop practical solutions to minimize Class B eggs.
  • Research approved hydration practices and products to increase production during summer heat
  • Input on farm data. Review data for errors and correct as needed


What You Bring to the Table:



  • A rising Junior or Senior working towards a bachelor's degree in Agriculture, Animal Science or a related field
  • Located a drivable distance to Springfield, MO
  • Ability to be onsite at farm locations 3-4 days throughout the week
  • Must have a state approved driver's license in good standing including reliable access to a vehicle

At Vital Farms, compensation decisions are dependent upon a variety of factors, which may include, but are not limited to, skill level, experience, education, training, market demands, and business needs. Hourly rate will vary based on completed education level. Rising Junior $21.00 HR and Rising Senior $22 HR. Please keep in mind that hiring at the maximum end of the range would not be typical in order to allow for potential continued future salary growth.
