Product Development Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Chemistry, Biology, Physics, or Food Science required
• Preferred a minimum two years in a lab environment or relevant experience in educational atmosphere.
• Formal training in Continuous Improvement, Lean or Six Sigma preferred
• Applied Mathematics
• Experience with common laboratory equipment and good laboratory practices
• Project Management Skills
• Strong computer skills with applied use of ERP system
• Experience with Experimental Designs.
• Experience with problem solving and analytical tools.
• Ability to learn and communicate technical/scientific information to non-technical audiences.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Generate dietary supplement formulations to meet customer requirements.
• Set up ERP product data including product item codes, BOM's, and routings.
• Analyze costs and create price quotations for manufacturing services.
• Review customer specifications. E. Reformulate current products per changes in customer specifications, raw material changes, etc.
• Analyze cost implications of material price fluctuations.
• Assist Purchasing in the qualifying of new raw materials.
• Provide recommendations to lower costs, improve efficiency, etc.
• Other duties as assigned
• Must be able to successfully pass all job-related tests and certifications required for working in a cGMP, quality environment including but not limited to: inspections and GMP requirements to perform essential functions of the job. Must re-qualify every year on all job-related tests and certifications as job or qualifications require.
