We're looking for a strategic and innovative Director - Corporate Communications to lead and oversee our brand's storytelling across multiple channels, including Public Relations, Events, Social Media, and Internal Communications. This role is responsible for developing and executing an integrated communications strategy that enhances brand reputation, engages key audiences, and drives business objectives.

As a senior leader, you will shape and amplify our corporate narrative, manage high-profile brand moments, and create impactful communication strategies that resonate both internally and externally. You'll work cross-functionally with leadership, marketing, HR, and other teams to ensure alignment across all communications touchpoints.

  • Public Relations: Develop and execute strategic PR initiatives that enhance brand reputation, manage media relations, and oversee crisis communications. Analyze PR campaign performance, provide reports, and recommend improvements.
  • Events: Lead planning and execution of corporate events, sponsorships, and thought leadership activations to drive brand awareness and engagement.
  • Social Media: Oversee social media strategy and execution, ensuring brand consistency, audience engagement, and alignment with corporate objectives. Monitor and manage Lumos's reputation across traditional and social media platforms.
  • Internal Communications: Create and implement internal communications strategies that inform, inspire, and connect employees to company culture and goals.
  • Serve as a strategic advisor to leadership on communications-related matters, ensuring messaging consistency and alignment.
  • Oversee content development for press releases, executive speeches, social content, internal messaging, and event communications.
  • Monitor industry trends, media coverage, and audience sentiment to refine strategies and optimize messaging.
  • Lead and mentor a high-performing communications team, fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence.
  • Performs other duties as assigned, including departmental and cross-functional projects.



Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Required




  • 10+ years' communications leadership experience, including being able to inspire and bring out the best in agency and cross-functional teams.
  • Expert understanding of building communications anchored in our purpose, employing effective tools to drive business outcomes.


  • Proven results and credibility across owned and earned media channels.
  • Fluency in digital marketing, including a clear understanding of digital channels, social media, content, etc. Understanding of the interplay between brand and performance marketing - and how to best leverage across channels.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to field questions from media outlets with credibility and confidence.
  • Ability to succeed in a fast-paced environment, including quickly and accurately assessing opportunities to determine the best approach.



Other Experience & Requirements




  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Journalism, Communications, or Public Relations.
  • Curious, passionate, servant leader mindset who is adaptable, resilient, and focused.
  • Strong presentation, communication, and interpersonal skills in interactions at all levels, internal and external to the company.
  • Comfortable and productive in a virtual working environment.
  • Able to travel moderately as the demands of the job require.
  • Fiber or Telecom industry experience preferred.
