Description

Reporting to the Chief Program Officer, the Director of Residential Services is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of all residential sites in New Jersey. The Director will implement, organize, administer, and coordinate the following functions: program oversight and expansion, department strategic planning, staff hiring, development and deployment, budget management, and communication with individuals and their family members.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Oversees the operations of all residences in accordance with agency policies and procedures, and ensures compliance with DDD regulations.
  • Plans and develops new and innovative residential models and service initiatives to meet the needs of individuals.
  • Oversees the supervision of subordinate staff including Assistant Directors of Residential Services, nurses and other support staff as assigned.
  • Establishes policies and procedure for the department to ensure compliance with regulations governing residential programs.
  • Plans and manages department budget to ensure the fiscal integrity of the program.
  • Administers the intake and discharge planning process for the department consistent with Agency policies and governmental regulations.
  • Oversees the system of hiring, supervising, and supporting residential staff to make certain programs are adequately staffed with qualified, trained personnel.
  • Identifies staff training and development needs of the department in concert with departmental heads. Participates in the development of training programs to provide staff with support and resources necessary for them to carry out their responsibilities.
  • Monitors the maintenance and appearance of all residences assigned to ensure they are safe, clean, pleasant and well maintained environments.
  • Meets with individuals and family members to share information, solicit feedback, and discuss issues germane to the quality of care provided to residents.
  • Maintains communication with departments throughout the organization.
  • Establishes effective working relationships with governmental officials responsible for program development and operations, as well as community and civic leaders.
  • Networks with external organizations such as ABCD to keep the agency abreast of best practices in the field, as well as trends and changes in the service delivery environment.
  • The Director of Residential Services will cooperate with Center for Family Support management and/or DDD staff in any inspection or investigation.


QUALIFICATIONS:



  • Bachelor's degree in Human Services with a Master's degree preferred.
  • Additional experience may be considered in lieu of this educational requirement.
  • 10+ years of experience in the field of Developmental Disabilities
  • 5+ years of management experience in residential operations
  • Knowledge of residential services program management, systems development, program development, strategic planning and budget management.


Salary 95,000 per year
