Job Description:
An IT Project Manager II is in charge of spearheading and overseeing multiple small to medium technology projects, ensuring adherence to budgets and deadlines. This position typically manages 5-7 small project with budget less than $1 million per project. It is their duty to set goals and guidelines, manage projects and deadlines, liaise with internal and external parties, coordinate project and operational managers, and monitor the progress of all efforts. They must also address issues and concerns, resolving them promptly. An IT Project Manager will be responsible for reaching project goals while following all organizational policies and achieving business objectives. They are also expected to have a strong understanding of project management methodologies, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead and motivate a team. Setting goals and guidelines, managing projects and deadlines, liaising with internal and external parties, and coordinating project and operational managers Leads project issue and risk management, remediation plans, and escalations across service areas - responsible for providing recommendations in these areas and ensuring clear communication, consideration of all factors, generation of solution alternatives, and defined actionable plans. Maintains oversight and accountability including audience specific communications, reports, and dashboards for project performance including creation and review of key project delivery metrics across multiple projects. Maintains compliance with established processes, project plans, schedules, and budgets, influencing decisions on resource utilization and allocation at key project lifecycle decision points. Resolving issues, risks, and project change requests to ensure successful and on-time project delivery. Full project life cycle ownership: successful project delivery will include full implementation from initiation to deployment for a few major or several minor initiatives simultaneously Proposes changes to project methodologies, frameworks, and promotes best practices for continuous process improvement. Lead and manage a diverse range of technology projects including software implementations, infrastructure upgrades, cloud migrations, system integrations, and data migrations while ensuring timely delivery, budget adherence, and high-quality outcomes. May train other IT Project Managers.
General Responsibilities
Minimum Qualifications Education Requirements: Bachelor's degree required. Experience Requirements: 3-5 years of project or program management experience in IT required. License/Certification/Registration Requirements: Project Management Professional (PMP) required within 2 years. Knowledge/Skills/Abilities Required:
Strong project management, time management, facilitation and organization skills Strong working knowledge of Change Management principles. Experience working with Project Portfolio Management tools, like MS Project or ServiceNow Strategic Portfolio Management (SPM) Ability to lead and execute quickly and independently in a highly visible and fast-paced environment while maintaining clear, concise communication with senior leadership Exceptional consulting skills to quickly adapt and develop approaches to solving complex issues. Strong knowledge of project management methodologies, including Waterfall and Agile methods. Demonstrated ability to develop collaborative relationships with key stakeholders. Strong influence skills and ability to motivate others. Ability to maintain integrity and trust among leadership and staff Proven ability to lead a cross-functional team of professionals to achieve project objectives Proven ability to effectively manage multiple high priority deliverables Excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills
