Responsibilities

Desert View Hospital is a 25-bed, acute care hospital set in a rural community. Desert View provides safe and competent nursing care for patients in accordance with facility policies, standards, and philosophy. We provide professional leadership and support to the healthcare team. The concepts of Patient Centered Care will provide the foundation for all nursing care. Demonstrates Service Excellence standards at all times.

The Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) is a member of the Hospital Executive Team. Responsible for integration, coordination
and direction of nursing and patient care within the overall operation of the hospital. Directs nursing and patient care
to ensure that delivery of high-quality and cost-effective health care consistent with the mission, vision, and values of
Universal Health Services and in accordance with government regulation, licensing and accreditation requirements.
The CNO participates in the hospital's strategic planning and contributes to the achievement of institutional goals and
objectives. The CNO promotes a culture of Service Excellence with all customer groups.


Qualifications

Education: Requires a minimum of a BSN with Master's degree in business, healthcare administration,
public health administration or related field from an accredited college or university, MSN
preferred.

Experience: Minimum requirements include five to eight years of progressive nursing management
experience in an acute care setting. Ten plus years preferred. Rural healthcare experience preferred.

Technical Skills: Demonstrated working knowledge nursing clinical practices and management. Extensive
knowledge of principles and practices relevant to nursing and patient care activities.
Demonstrated knowledge of effective management and supervisory practices. Highly
developed written and verbal communication skills.

License/Certification: Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in the state of Nevada.
