JOB SUMMARY: The NARC Manager directs and manages the day-to-day operation of the Needs Assessment and Referral Center, ensuring prospective service recipients' linkage to appropriate resources or care providers. The NARC Manager assigns responsibilities to assure prompt response to patient needs, reviews and maintains all documents and departmental logs and insure quality assurance. The NARC Manager performs NARC Counselor responsibilities while managing the department and provides telephonic and in person assessments and, initial contact with referral sources and potential patients, coordinates the referral and intake process, determines appropriate level of care and maintains communication with referral sources, families, patients and unit staff. The NARC Manager collects and analyzes data related to departmental performance indicators. The NARC Manager assists the Director and the Assistant Director in all day-to-day operations while assisting the department with NOC responsibilities and meeting the needs of the department. Qualifications JOB SPECIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to demonstrate competency in the criteria listed in this job description. The specifications listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and ability to meet the minimum requirements for this position. Staff must demonstrate knowledge and skill in provision of services to varied populations including adults, dually diagnosed patients, children, adolescents and geriatrics in all levels of care. Education: Master's degree in Counseling, Psychology or Human Services field, with at least two years crisis experience, licensed preferred. Experience: Prior intake, assessment, admission and crisis intervention experience with a psychiatric mental health population, preferably in an inpatient setting. Supervisory experience preferred. Licensure/Certification: N/A Knowledge: Prefer knowledge of hospital admissions functions, psychological assessment and risk assessment, psychiatric diagnoses symptomology, basic chemical dependency, age specific growth and development and crisis and behavior management.
