Position Title: Core Engine Calibration Engineer, Senior

Location: Onsite: Auburn Hills, MI.

Pay Range: $49-$50/hr.





Qualifications:

  • Bachelor of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering or equivalent Engineering degree with a minimum of FIVE (5) years of experience in the development and calibration of gasoline spark ignition engines; or a Master of Science in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering with THREE (3) years of experience in the development and calibration of gasoline spark ignition engine.
  • Data acquisition experience collecting and processing data.
  • Strong knowledge of internal combustion engines.
  • Strong expertise and knowledge of engine control strategies and complex optimization strategies.

Description:



  • Working knowledge of engine analysis and calibration tools, emissions development, engine technologies and competitive products.
  • Generate optimal base engine calibrations meeting all the program objectives in terms of performance, control stability, lowest fuel consumption whilst minimizing the engine out and tailpipe emissions levels.
  • The setup and control of all engine sensors and actuators for all engine operating conditions under both steady state and transient engine operation is part of the responsibilities.
  • Conduct engine hardware and systems testing and supporting all other teams with their standardized and specialized engine test requests.
  • Carry out responsibilities across all the different propulsion system concepts and will include varying levels of electrification of the driveline.
  • Plan and coordinate day to day activities of an engine and powertrain dynamometer and does include collaboration with technicians and laboratory support engineers.
  • Develop test plans, timelines, and reports generated to communicate the status of the program to the larger development and management teams.
  • Evaluations will occur with new engine hardware and powertrain technologies for future and carry over applications.
  • Analyze and solve complex system problems as they relate to engine performance, fuel consumption, emissions, and base engine calibration development.
  • Manipulate and utilize large and complex sets of engine mapping data.
  • Actively participate in the decision process of base engine hardware selection and base engine calibration to achieve the functional objectives.
