At Eisai, satisfying unmet medical needs and increasing the benefits healthcare provides to patients, their families, and caregivers is Eisai's human health care (hhc) mission. We're a growing pharmaceutical company that is breaking through in neurology and oncology, with a strong emphasis on research and development. Our history includes the development of many innovative medicines, notably the discovery of the world's most widely-used treatment for Alzheimer's disease. As we continue to expand, we are seeking highly-motivated individuals who want to work in a fast-paced environment and make a difference. If this is your profile, we want to hear from you.

The Director Western Supply Chain Management (SCM) Unit is accountable and/or responsible for providing an uninterrupted supply of quality products to patients and DCU customers in their respective regions. The product portfolio covers Oncology, Neurology and Established Products distributed both domestically and globally. The team is also responsible for management of CMOs where the contractual relationship is with ESI or ECL (example: Patheon for Lenvima).

The Global Supply Chain function collaborates with Regional (Americas, EU, and JP) Commercial, Financial & Supply Business leaders, Product Champions, and Strategic Partners to understand demand. Once demand is identified, the team then works with BD partners/suppliers and CMO vendors to develop appropriate production plans and/or transition plans to meet the demand forecast.

The Director, Western SCM Unit will lead a cross-functional team driving excellence in Import/Export Compliance, Logistics, and Supply Chain support while interfacing closely with other EDCS Units, PQ, and PST leaders to ensure stable supply for the Americas Region. Responsibilities include ensuring an uninterrupted supply of quality products and successful and timely launch of new products.

As the manufacturing network and global supply chain become more complex with the launch of biologic products and hhceco initiatives, the Director will oversee Global Logistics and Import/Export compliance for commercial, clinical, and research materials. This includes the Eisai Customs and Border Protection (CBP) Compliance program and managing all freight identified by EISAI's Importer of Record (IOR) number. The role covers Eisai's US sites (Baltimore, Cambridge, Exton, Nutley, and Raleigh) along with Eisai Canada, Mexico, and Europe for import and compliance management.

Effective communication, relationship building, and strong partnerships are essential in this virtual organization to meet annual business objectives and ensure patients have consistent access to medicines. The Director will develop colleagues with expertise in relationship/project management, contract review and negotiation, demand planning, and logistics to manage effectively in a global networked business environment. In depth understanding of demand forecasts and trends is crucial to align production forecasts with business objectives, minimizing financial exposure due to obsolescence and preventing stockouts.

This position will provide guidance and recommendations for decisions on supplier selection and contract terms. Additionally, the position is accountable for the development of production schedules, safety stock levels, launch plans, and business contingency plans. The Director, Western SCM Unit is also instrumental in supporting the various Business Development Due Diligence efforts and negotiations (in and out-licensing).
