Position: Workers' Compensation Leaves Administrator

Location: Austin, TX.

Shift: Onsite. 9a-5p.
OEM is seeking a highly motivated, detail-oriented, analytical, innovative and customer-focused Workers' Compensation Leaves Administrator to join our dynamic Workers' Compensation team. In this role you will be responsible for administering and coordinating workers' compensation related leaves across several business units. This position requires strong analytical skills, the ability to navigate complex leave scenarios, and experience working cross functionally with HR, operations management, EHS, and other internal/external partners. The ideal candidate will drive efficiency in leave administration while supporting a positive employee experience.




Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree preferred (Business Administration, Insurance or Risk Management) or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in workers' compensation benefits, claims management, or leave administration.
  • Strong knowledge in FMLA, ADA, benefit administration, and jurisdictional workers' compensation laws.
  • A background in risk management and/or workers' compensation claims management is preferred.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to explain leave policies to employees and stakeholders.
  • Insurance Education Association (IEA) certification is desirable. CPCU, ARM, WCCA, WCCP and/or self-insured license is preferred.

Responsibilities:

  • Review and approve self-initiated leaves by evaluating supporting documentation to ensure compliance with company policies and regulatory requirements.
  • Act as liaison to certify medical leaves on behalf of OEM's short-term disability administrator by assessing corresponding documentation and eligibility criteria.
  • Investigate and evaluate employee's workers' compensation leave requests to determine eligibility and ensure adherence to legal and policy requirements.
  • Facilitate between employees, supervisors, HR, the Workers' Compensation team, and OEM's disability administrators for proper leave alignment and case resolution.
  • Coordinate return-to-work process, collaborating with HR, supervisors, and disability administrators to ensure a seamless transition back into the workplace.
  • Communicate with employees to resolve disputes, provide guidance on leave policies, and ensure proper compliance with applicable FMLA, ADA, FEHA, and HIPPA laws and company procedures.
  • Recommend and develop administrative procedures and controls to mitigate delayed reporting and improve the efficiency of the workers' compensation leave process.
  • Track, analyze, and report leave trends to identify patterns, improve workflow efficiency, and recommend policy enhancements.
  • Support interactive processes under ADA/FEHA when employees require accommodations related to workplace injuries.
