Description

Core Responsibilities:



  • Paints surfaces of aircraft parts applying knowledge of surface preparation and painting techniques, using spray painting equipment, power tools, and work aids to properly coat parts to meet company and customer specifications.
  • Cleans, sands, and applies chemical solutions to prepare and condition surfaces prior to painting. Masks and covers surfaces not to be painted.
  • Mixes and thins primers or paint to specified color and consistency according to standard formulas or color charts, using the proper equipment. spatula or mixing equipment and viscometer.
  • Sprays specified amount of thickness of primer, protective, decorative, or finish coatings, such as paint, lacquer, sealer, or enamels, onto prepared surfaces, using the appropriate spray equipment.
  • Regulates controls on equipment to cure and dry paint or other coatings.
  • Cleans all equipment and tools to keep and maintain them in proper working condition.
  • Spraying equipment and brushes with solvent.
  • Keep area and surrounding area clean.
  • Learn and adhere to required safety standards and procedures and wears the proper PPE as required.
  • Perform part mark responsibilities as required.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.


Qualifications:



  • Five (5) years of experience in a manufacturing environment, preferably in Aerospace.
  • Minimum of Two (2) years of a strong manufacturing background working with painting surfaces of aircraft parts.
  • Ability to understand and follow company and customer specifications.
  • Ability to regulate controls associated with all equipment utilized.
  • Ability to operate Pneumatic hand grinders and finishers, masking equipment, paint sprayers, blasters and air respirator, dryer and ovens.
  • Interact and communicate in a professional and effective manner with all levels of employees.
  • Schedule and organize time and tasks effectively.
  • Ability to work in a challenging and schedule driven environment.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Ability to plan and perform difficult work processes.
  • Ability to locate, read and understand MSDS's


Education Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
