Hunter Hamilton is seeking a detail-oriented and results-driven Senior Collections Specialist to join their team in Alpharetta, GA. This is a temporary to hire opportunity and In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accurate recording, application, and reconciliation of all cash receipts from customers, aligning with both customer instructions and company financial records. Additionally, you will serve as a backup for Team Lead functions and support continuous process improvements. They do work a hybrid schedule including 3 days in office and 2 days remote. Hunter Hamilton offers hourly/weekly pay, direct deposit and temporary health benefits!


Key Responsibilities:

  • Accurately post cash receipts to customer accounts, ensuring proper application as per customer instructions.
  • Making collection calls on unpaid, past due accounts.
  • Investigate and resolve discrepancies, including short payments and misapplications.
  • Perform daily cash balancing to ensure alignment with the general ledger.
  • Reconcile monthly cash activity with the general ledger, identifying and resolving discrepancies.
  • Update complex Excel reports daily, providing status updates to management.
  • Support the Team Lead by reviewing daily tasks, reallocating work as needed to meet deadlines.
  • Train new team members and assist in onboarding processes for new hires.
  • Provide documentation for third-party audits and support audit-related activities.
  • Participate in process improvement projects, including system testing and automation initiatives.
  • Identify operational inefficiencies and propose solutions to enhance workflow.
  • Complete ad hoc projects and assignments as directed.


Key Competencies:

  • Results-driven with strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently.
  • High level of accuracy and financial acumen in managing numerical data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and the ability to work effectively with ERP systems.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail and time management.
  • Excellent communication and customer service skills, with the ability to handle sensitive information professionally.
  • Strong negotiation and relationship-building skills with both internal and external stakeholders.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounts receivable, cash application, or related financial roles required.
  • Solid understanding of general accounting principles.
  • Experience with multiple ERP systems is a plus.
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-resolution skills.


Work Environment & Physical Demands:

  • Location: Hybrid in Alpharetta, GA, in a professional office environment.
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday-Friday.
  • Travel: Minimal (0-10%).
  • Physical Requirements: Ability to sit or stand for extended periods, use a computer, handle phone calls, and occasionally reach for documents.
