Job Summary:

The Decision Modeling & Analytics Director is responsible for overseeing all phases of project and engagement management for multiple clients across a variety of industries. The candidate will play a key role in client management, practice development, and business development.

Job Duties:



  • Develops complex financial analysis and models to support engagements across industries served by BDO
  • Serves as engagement leader for all financial modeling needs on engagements
  • Works with team members at all levels to identify needs from a financial modeling and decision analytics perspective
  • Manages client expectations concerning project deliverables and deadlines
  • Seeks to improve internal processes, procedures, analyses, and models
  • Understands and manage firm risk on projects and proposals
  • Executes personal business development plan in conjunction with practice leadership which includes building and maintaining relationships with and participating in business development activities to grow the practice
  • Identifies how to work with Alliance Firms and coordinate with international firms as appropriate on opportunities as they arise
  • Other duties as required


Supervisory Responsibilities:



  • Supervises the day-to-day workload of staff on assigned engagements and reviews work product/client deliverables
  • Ensures staff are trained on all relevant databases, financial models, and software platforms
  • Evaluates the performance of staff and assist in the development of goals and objectives to enhance professional development
  • Delivers periodic performance feedback and complete performance evaluations for staff
  • Acts as Career Advisor to staff, as appropriate


Qualifications, Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

Education:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Finance, Accounting, or Economics, required
  • Master's Degree in Business Administration, preferred


Experience:



  • Twelve (12) or more years of related work experience with a minimum of 5 years of experience in a supervisory role, required
  • Prior experience working on a financial modeling/business analytics team, required
  • Demonstrated knowledge and proficiency in corporate finance, valuation, financial accounting, and US GAAP, required
  • Proven ability to develop client relationships and effectively interact directly with senior client personnel and key decision makers, required


License/Certifications:



  • CFA, CPA, or valuation credential, preferred
  • Industry credential in financial modeling, preferred


Software:



  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office Suite, specifically Excel, PowerPoint and Word, required


Other Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:



  • Superior verbal and written communication skills
  • Superior financial modeling skills including: 3-statement financial forecasting, scenario analysis, trend analysis, variance analysis, and other strategic decision analytics
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and root cause determination skills
  • Solid organizational skills, especially the ability to meet project deadlines with a focus on details
  • Ability to successfully multi-task while working independently or within a group environment
  • Ability to work in a deadline-driven environment and handle multiple projects simultaneously
  • Ability to manage a team of professionals and delegate work assignments as needed
  • Capacity to build and maintain strong relationships with internal and client personnel
  • Ability to encourage team environment on engagements and contribute to the professional development of assigned personnel
  • Executive presence and ability to act as primary contact on assigned engagements
  • Ability to successfully interact with professionals at all levels
  • Ability to travel within the US and internationally, as required



Individual salaries that are offered to a candidate are determined after consideration of numerous factors including but not limited to the candidate's qualifications, experience, skills, and geography.

California Range: $200,000 - $260,000
Colorado Range: $200,000 - $260,000
Illinois Range: $200,000 - $260,000
Maryland Range: $200,000 - $260,000
Minnesota Range: $200,000 - $260,000
NYC/Long Island/Westchester Range: $200,000 - $260,000
Washington Range: $200,000 - $260,000
Washington DC Range: $200,000 - $260,000
